When looking at cleaning supplies and insecticides, there are three key words that can help you determine exactly how toxic the product is: "caution," "warning" and "danger." If you see "caution," it means the overall product ingredients are low in toxicity. "Warning" is a step up in toxicity. And if you see "danger," the product contains the highest level of chemicals and is considered extremely toxic. While it may not be possible to find completely organic and non-toxic products, you can look for those that say "caution" for your safest and greenest bet.

Here's one more reason to choose organic red wine to have with dinner: It's loaded with good-for-you antioxidants. Red wine has the antioxidant resveratrol, which has been shown to help protect against cancer and heart disease, and helps promote overall wellness and health. But when you drink conventionally grown red wine, it can be loaded with chemicals from pesticides and insecticides. Going organic is a cleaner, greener and possibly better-for-you choice. In previous columns, we've discussed the importance of always filling all the way up when going to the gas station. The reason? The fewer trips you make, the more fuel you save, plain and simple. But you also do not want your gas tank to get to the brink of absolute emptiness, either. According to the insurance company Esurance, you "risk burning out your fuel pump and collecting sediment in your gas tank." Over time, the sludge clogs the fuel injector and can damage the engine. It recommends filling up on gas when you're "not running on fumes." I recommend any time you fall beneath a quarter of a tank of gas.
