For rarely used areas of the house -- the attic, basement, and garages -- use motion sensor lighting. The lights will automatically turn on once the sensor is activated. After a period of time without motion, the sensors will turn off the lights. The motion sensors are also a great solution for outdoor security lighting -- when you forget to turn a light switch off and on every day and night.

Tip: When you do see organic berries for sale, stock up. Put the excess berries on a sheet of parchment paper and store them in an airtight container in the freezer.

If you can't afford to go totally organic with your fresh fruit, start with the thin-skinned ones. Fruits such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries (see a trend here?) are like sponges; they absorb what's sprayed onto them.
