Dryer sheets are often made with beef tallow derivatives and covered in artificial fragrances to give your clothes that "April Fresh" smell. While they supposedly help reduce static cling, they also leave chemicals behind on your clothes. Do this eco trick instead: add 1/4 cup white vinegar to the rinse cycle when washing your clothes. This will help soften clothes and reduce static cling.

If you've got a collection of handbags in your closet that would make any fashionista green with envy, here's a stylist trick from "Today" show contributor Bobbie Thomas: Use cardboard to help them keep their shape. Just rip open a cardboard box and use rolled-up sections to fill the bags. This will work to keep them full and upright so they don't get flat and worn while stored inside the closet.

If you have a collection of boots in your closet that are flopping over and getting crease marks, turn to your recycling bin for the solution. Rinse and dry wine bottles and place the bottles inside your boots. They'll work as shoe forms to keep your boots looking as good as new.
