Over time, a little cooking oil in the frying pan or some grease in a casserole can build up in your pipes and cause a giant clog in the future. Since it is nearly impossible to make sure all oils end up in the trash and not down the drain, one easy way to scrub your cookware clean is to do it with cold water. Cold water helps solidify the fats, which are less likely to cling to pipes than liquid fats do.
